Message outline
Pastor Jon Burdine · Wednesday Night Service · October 14, 2026 Introduction: The God who sees us Alone and afflicted in the wilderness, Hagar discovered that God saw her distress and heard her affliction. She was not forgotten or beyond His reach. God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and present everywhere. He not only sees what we face—He has the power to help us. Through Hagar’s experience and Jesus’ encounter with Zacchaeus, this message reminds us that God’s attention and care are personal.
Read Genesis 16:13 in the KJV- 01
God Knows Where You Are
- Jesus came to the very place where Zacchaeus had climbed into a tree. Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus, but Jesus already knew where to find him.
- Difficult circumstances can make us feel overlooked or forgotten. Those feelings do not mean we have escaped God’s notice.
- Whether we are at church, at home, in a hospital, or facing an unexpected trial, the Lord knows exactly where we are.
- The God who saw Hagar in the wilderness still sees His people today. No situation places us beyond His reach.
Scriptures: Genesis 16:7–13; Luke 19:1–5.
- 02
God Knows Who You Are
- Jesus called Zacchaeus by name. His attention was not merely directed toward a crowd, but toward an individual.
- God knows more than our location. He knows our identity, our burdens, and the circumstances others may never understand.
- Discouragement, grief, and loss do not make us invisible to Him. He sees the person carrying the burden.
- His care for even the smallest creatures reminds us that we matter to Him. We can approach Him with confidence in His personal concern.
Scriptures: Luke 19:5; Matthew 10:29–31.
- 03
God Knows What You Need
- Zacchaeus’s deepest need was a personal relationship with Jesus. The Lord’s invitation reached beyond outward circumstances to the need of his soul.
- We need Jesus every day—not only during campmeeting or special services.
- Bring your need for salvation, healing, the Holy Ghost, or renewed encouragement to the Lord. He understands what you are facing.
- The Father who feeds the birds and clothes the lilies cares for His people. Depend upon His wisdom, provision, and strength.
Scriptures: Luke 19:5–6; Matthew 6:26–32.
Closing Challenge
Do not let discouragement convince you that God has forgotten you. He knows your location, your name, and your deepest need.
Pour out your heart to Him in prayer. Thank Him for His watchful care, trust Him through the trial, and pray with others who need encouragement. The God who saw Hagar and called Zacchaeus still sees and cares for you.
